The Coronado uses machine cut stainless steel gears--the only bait feeding style reel in the world to do so! The Coronado main-shaft is oversized and stainless. The machined aluminum spool has been ported to reduce weight, and is fitted with a waterproof drag seal to protect the oil soaked felt and stainless steel drag system from the environment. We even treat the stainless steel rotor bearings with a special corrosion resistant coating for additional protection, because we know what prolonged exposure to salt can even do to stainless steel.
