The cleat pops up at the push of a button - simply push it back down when it's no longer needed and it locks in the flush position.  In the "up" position, POP-UP® Cleats function exactly like a conventional cleat.  Available in four sizes: 4 1/2v inch, 6inch, 8 inch, and 10 inch.  Made of marine grade 316 stainless steel.  Each POP-UP® Cleat is shipped with an aluminum backing plate which also serves as the cut-out template.
